Baptism

The child grew and became strong in spirit. (Luke 1:80)

Our baptism sets us out on a lifelong journey that is characterized by our relationship to God, our relationship to our faith community, and the wider world. Living our baptismal covenant means living a life of growth in the faith practices of discipleship. When a child is baptized, that child becomes part of the community of God. While a majority of our baptisms are for children, we also welcome adults.

For more information about baptism especially scheduling a baptism, please contact Pastor Carrie (pastorcanderson@gmail.com) or 608-624-5754.

First Communion

Then he took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” (Luke 22:19).

We invite all the baptized to the communion table to partake in the bread and wine, the body and blood of Jesus.  First Communion classes are a time to explore and learn more about the sacrament of Holy Communion.  These classes typically focus on children in 1st-3rd grades.  However, we do provide classes for any ages that are interested in learning more about Holy Communion.

If you are interested in First Communion, please contact Pastor Carrie

Sunday School

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.” (Matthew 19:14)

Sunday school will be on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at Our Savior's from 9:30 - 10:15 am.  Our Sunday school ministry is open to all 3 year olds to 6th graders.

Confirmation

Your word is a lamp to my feet

and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105)

Confirmation of our Baptism is a time of focusing on exploring the Bible and topics of faith.  This ministry happens when a child is usually in 7th & 8th Grade.  Our Confirmation ministry is two years of studying the Bible, the Small Catechism, the Sacraments, and Lutheran history.  We also participate in worship and service projects in our communities.

If you are interested in Confirmation, please contact Pastor Carrie
